New Age of Transparency
2 December 2019
Parliament is now debating the Defence White Paper. This is the first time ever a white paper on defence is tabled and is suppose to represent a new age of transparency.
The paper is in 8 chapters; has an assessment on US-China situation, focuses on maritime issues, pledge to be transparent and clean amongst other issues.
One of the ironic aspect of the debate is some BN MPs are saying it is just not transparent enough. Yet BN never ever tabled such a paper in 60 years. Whatever the shortcomings in the white paper and there are some, it is still a start.
