Good morning. I slept at 10 pm last night! My wife and I usually sleep past midnight.
This morning, I was nicely woken up at 6.20 by my kids as they prepared to go to school. Usually my wife and I take turns to help prep the kids (our helper does most of it) and send them to the bus, which picks them up at 7. Since she is away for a week, I have been on bus duty every morning.
My wife is currently in Paris/Brussels where she delivered a paper on sustainability to the EU Commission in Brussels. In Paris, she will soon be meeting researchers from Francais des Relations Internationales and Compte des Affairs Sociales de la FNSP. She will also deliver a speech at the L’Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences). I am very proud of her and our competition to outdo each other intellectually continues… with her having a slight upper hand with this European coup.
Anyhow, I had a good 8 hours of sleep and am feeling great. As I get older, I find that I am sleeping less, averaging 6 hours a day. If I am free on weekends, I try to get a power nap of 2 hours. One very annoying thing is my body now tends to go into sleep mode at the movies.
Now that the alternative budget draft is done, I am gonna take it easy today. My former staff Nadirah (who is now in UCL London) is drawing and designing icons and characters for the budget. Yup, she is truly multi-talented. I haven’t told Tania (who is in Oxford) this, but I am going to assign her to proof read the 60 pages of text. So Tania, if you are reading this now, check your email and get to work.
I will be putting my feet up and enjoy the day at home… until 3pm. I will be going to my office to shoot Monday Night Chat around 3.30 pm and then attend a Lantern Festival community event in ss15/2 Subang Jaya.
Have a good day everyone!
