Welfare Month 2017 – Cheque Collection

Wassup guys! Tina here, reporting from the office while our Boss is away taking a one-day break (Parliament is so tiring man).

Today marks the start of cheque collection for this year’s Bulan Kebajikan — it is hectic as usual. Unfortunately, all three of our interns are not around (Kevin is sick; Cassandra got summoned to her father’s hometown; and one of the Seans is on study leave).

Lucky for us, two of our former interns are back to the rescue! Megan (who will be joining the office as staff in December) and Ivan, came to visit and is now helping the office with the giving out of cheques.

On a side note, we received a letter from KRT (Kawasan Rukun Tetangga) PJS 10 thanking our office for helping them rebuilt their cabin that was burnt down in December 2016.

Budget Meetings and Community Events

It has been an incredibly busy 2 days.

I am currently on my way to INVOKE Malaysia. My office hosted the Alternative Budget Working Commitee yesterday from 10 am to 1 pm. Then I went to brief the Leader of the Opposition, Dato Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismailand her personal economic team on the budget. That was another 3 hour event. Then last night, I presented the Budget to the Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council for about 2.5 hours, ending at 1.30 am (past midnight).

This morning my office team gathered to work on the latest feedback and then we had a 3 hour meeting with Mukhriz Mahathir to finalise some policy points with Bersatu. Then I took part in the iMoney event with Prof.Jomo and Dr. Khalid Muhamad. At 5.30 pm, I was in Desa Ria to wish my constituents a Happy Deepavali. A local benefactor Mr.Prakash bought 88 sets of rice and chicken for the urban poor community. Tonight, I will be joining Rafizi Ramli in INVOKE for an important briefing to Pakatan leaders.
