In December last year when the bromance of Najib and Hadi was at full bloom, both stood hand in hand to declare to the Myanmar government that “Enough is enough” on the Rohingya issue and that they will champion the protection of all Muslims in the region.
On stage together with Hadi, Najib proudly declared “I am standing here not as Najib Razak but I am here under the name of the Ummah (Muslim community) and as a Malaysian citizen.”
The hypocrisy of that defining moment of Hadi loves Najib, has come home to roost, as the UN published a report condemning the Najib administration on the deplorable treatment of Rohingyas in Malaysian refugee camps.
The government acknowledges that some 161 refugees have died in what the UN reports as “torture like” government camps from 2014 to 2016. Remember also the disclosure in May 2015 of the human trafficking Rohingya death camps and graves on the Malaysian-Thai borders, where on the Malaysian side, not one single human trafficker has been charged.
It is time for all compassionate Malaysians to tell Najib “enough is enough” with the hypocrisy and boot him out, so that we can actually do something positive on human rights and repair our international reputation.
